CONFIRMATION

CONFIRMATION

When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:14-17

Confirmation seals our life of faith in Jesus. Its signs are the laying on of hands on a person’s head, most often by a bishop, and the anointing with oil. Like Baptism, Confirmation is received only once.

CONFIRMATION AT ST. CHRISTOPHER:

The Sacrament of Confirmation for our parish youth occurs in the 10th grade. Older teens that did not receive the Sacrament in their sophomore year may also participate in their junior/senior year of high school.
