St. Vincent De Paul - Lunch Ministry Details
The project is simple:
From your own resources, purchase and prepare 10 bag lunches monthly in your home. Having children decorate the bags, while not a requirement, is a nice personal touch.
- One hearty meat sandwich: 2 ounces of meat on bread without condiments (no PB&J please)
- Condiment packets may be placed in bag, but are not required
- A drink: small bottled water (12 oz) or juice box
- 2 snacks: a salty snack and a sweet snack or a piece of fruit
- Date: Every bag must be dated with the date it was prepared
Deliver those lunches at 10:30am on your assigned Sunday to St Chris each month knowing they will be taken directly to St. Vincent de Paul on Apple St. after the drop off.
The drop off location is the Northwest corner of the St. Chris parking lot (at the north end of the school building).
A volunteer “lunch captain” will collect the lunches and make sure they make it onto the delivery truck.
Can’t make your commitment for that Sunday:
If for some reason you cannot keep your commitment on any given month, we ask that you seek and train your own replacement for that month—whether they are already in the project or not.
Teams are typically formed every 6 months.
