AN EASTER MESSAGE FROM FR. JOHN

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

EXULT, LET THEM EXULT, THE HOSTS OF HEAVEN, EXULT, LET ANGEL MINISTERS OF GOD EXULT, LET THE TRUMPET OF SALVATION SOUND ALOUD OUR MIGHT KING’S TRIUMPH! BE GLAD, LET EARTH BE GLAD, AS GLORY FLOODS HER, ABLAZE WITH LIGHT FROM HER ETERNAL KING, LET ALL CORNERS OF THE EARTH BE GLAD, KNOWING AN END TO GLOOM AND DARKNESS. REJOICE, LET MOTHER CHURCH ALSO REJOICE, ARRAYED WITH THE LIGHTNING.

The above excerpt is from the Easter Proclamation, an ancient hymn sung by the light of the Paschal Candle at the Easter Vigil. This hymn and the celebration of Easter remind us that Christians are a Resurrection people called to REJOICE, SING, and EXULT that we are redeemed by the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Do you live out this joy when you come to celebrate Mass?  Or do you just go through the motions?  Do you live out this joy on a daily basis and show to those around you the joy of the Gospel?  Or do you live as if you never even heard of Jesus or his Gospel calling all people to the fullness of  resurrected Life?  Are you alive in Christ Jesus?
—Fr. John
For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them.   Ephesians 2:10
